(a prayer for the strengthening, protection and success of my marriage)

Lord,

Help us to treasure each blessing we share, to cherish the warm memories.
Of first love, so tender and new that began when we met in those very first years.
To value the home that we built as a nest with hopes of a family to be.
And rewind the wonderful moments we had with the joy of young children, weary but happy.
To run with each challenge as they learn and grow,
And flex to the pace and the change.
To celebrate good times in summertime years
Learning together, forgiving mistakes.

Help us to grow into age gracefully and keep our connection alive.
Lead us through each of our autumnal years, gently and kindly, you as our guide.
You are our sanctuary, you are our song, you are our hope and our prayer.
You’re the third cord of our marriage dear Lord, and even when winter comes, we’ll feel you near.
So we lay before you, our union, our bond, our love and our friendship so dear.
And come to be filled every day by your love,
Together we’ll stay strong, through good times or tears, thank you for every year.
